Sooooooooooooo funny
Sooooooooooooo funny
It's been forever I know
So I'm still a professional photocopier....I took an aptitude test for a job at the RCMP, passed that and now I have to take some 2 hour test to see how good my reasoning skills are.
My birthday was on November 24th...Joe took me shopping and I got a cool Zombie game, a book and a pin-up girl's calendar. She also got me the bracelet I had been eyeing in her store. SHe also took me out for a wonderful dinner at this place called Characters, we got to sit in this old elevator shaft, and our waitress was super cool. My parents bought me dinner and gave me lots and lotsa moo-lah for my birthday, which I was very greatful for. Oooohhh annnddd my dad finally found me a car.
In fact, tomorrow I'm heading down to Calgary to pick it up. I'm so excited to have a car...it's gonna be sweet.
Joe has become obsessed with a new game, its a law and order game.
oooooohhh annnnddd my engagement ring finally came and is all set and is now sitting on my finger...its so beautiful...like crazy beautiful, I can't stop staring at it....I love it!
I'm totally not ready for christmas. I haven't bought many gifts. We're going to Camrose this year...it'll be interesting celebrating with other people.
Topnot has now had is last eye removed, I get to see the little guy tomorrow.
I'm starving...we've been cooking a lot of good meals lately...sweet and sour ribs, stuffed chicken with proscuitto and havartti cheese, tacos, etc etc I gotta stop talking about food....
I'm hanging out with Joe at her work right now. We're criticizing Ami on Miami Ink, he truly isn't a very good tattoo artist....not at all.
Joe and I have also watched every movie under the sun....THe Decent, Devil Wears Prada, CLerks 2 are all pretty good.
Holy fuck how much do I love the autosave feature on here, this computer just decided to mysteriously restart itself...

I SHALL SMASH YOUR SKULL LIKE A CLAM ON MY TUMMY!!!!
Seriously this made me laugh so hard
So I guess I haven't really said anything about living with my darling since I've moved here.
I'm really happy I did move here and move in with her. Sure, we've had our ups and downs but unlike other relationships and people I've lived with I do not regret moving in with her at all
Reasons why I like living with Joe:
- I'm not the only one that does the cleaning
- She's the best bed buddy ever - It's amazing how compatible we are when it comes to sleeping together!
- She likes to be a home body as much as I do
- Watching 15+ hours of a TV show together over a weekend
- Playing silly computer games obsessively
- Keeping me company while I'm in the bath tub
- Being woken up in the middle of the nite to her whispering sweet nothings in my ear
- Having fabulous breakfasts made for me
- Having suppers made for me
- Cuddling and snuggling whilst watching movies/tv
There are other things but those are the ones that came to mind right now
I'm so glad the work week is over...it was a long long week!

I know it's been forever since I've updated this thing. Oops.
I'm still working at the Land Titles Office. I really like the people I work with. I think they're the only reason I'm still there. Well that and I need a job. I do however have a test thingy with the Alberta Government on MOnday for some lame ass administrative position. Hopefully that'll go well.
Joe is interrogating me on what I want for my birthday. I have no clue. She has a secret list in her pocket...she just pulled it out as I was rambling about what I wanted....hmmmm I must put on my TO Do List to find her mysterious list...just kidding. I'd rather be surprised than wreck it for myself.
Joe and I watched a freaky freaky movie on Halloween, It's called The Descent...I was jumping and grabbing onto Joe as we were watching it.
I'm not sure what We're doing this weekend. I think Joe has to work and I may go in on Saturday to build some overtime up.
Ummmmmm I'm on chapter 3 of my Bio course...I just started it. Which reminds me I have to do the lab and assignments for the first 3 chapters.
Hmmmm I don't know what she's doing...she keeps grabbing various notebooks and pieces of paper...and now a calculator....and she's scribbling furiously. Ohhhh she's figuring out the bills...I get....geez I'm nosey sometimes.
Joe gave Skylar a bath last nite...she is no longer a stinky puppy...she even blow dried her, it was cute how she sat there kind of shaking because of the noise.
I've been contemplating xmas gifts lately...I can't believe its the beginning of NOvember...that only gives me 3 more pay cheques before xmas...

Soooo tired. Working sucks. I'm once again going to be a student. I'm enrolled in the BSc in Human Biology at Athabasca Uni program...I begin in Novemeber. I'm still working and only taking 1-2 courses per semester. I think I'm going to be a student for the rest of my life.
A co-worker just introduced me to the wonderful world of podcasts. I'm downloading podcasts on stem cell research, bloody mary, evolution, darwin and a whole whack of other things.
My mom was here last weekend. We had lots of fun. I think we hit all the main shopping areas in the city. I got some great work clothes.
I've been so tired this last week...I have to get used to early mornings still. This weekend I'm devoting to sleep and cuddling with Joe. We've watched some good movies this week...X-Men, etc etc.
People here are psycho about hockey...seriously...its scary.

So I've successfully completed 4 days of work. it's an alright job. I get requests for land titles - I find said titles in the 3 rooms of file cabinets, photocopy, bill and then fax/mail it to the client. It'smo a pretty busy job, apparently land titles are popular...I dunno exactly what for, something with buying land and making sure there is no money owning or something.
The lady that is training me is nice, she's like the female version of Milton from the movie Office Space...she talks just like him, it keeps me entertained.
Tonite is mine and Joe's crazy amounts of good tv shows on nite. I can't wait to cuddle up with her on the couch and watch TV.
Finding dress shoes that are comfy for standing for long amounts of time are something I desperately need.
THis weekend my mom is is in town. I think we're going to go shopping on Sunday and I'm meeting her at the airport tomorrow.
FOr the next 2 weeks I get to dress casual - it's sweet, dressing up is fun and all but I feel like such a drone in my business attire.
I'm excited about the Ugly Betty premiere

So I got offered the job at CriticalControl. I am now a records clerk and start on Monday. Its fulltime with benefits and vacation time as well, so I'm really happy. I think its going to be a really interesting job and most importantly its great experience.
Joe and I are still obsessed with sims games. Right now its virtual villagers and fish tycoon. Its a fun way to spend time together. This afternoon we keep calling one another to check up on our villages...its cute.
Tonite is crazy good TV nite:
8pm UFC
9pm Grey's Anatomy
10pm CSI
Allll new episodes. I'm going to download the Office because it's the season premiere as well. I only watched a half an hour of ANTM yesterday, I think it comes on another day as well.
I really want to see that Ugly Betty show...I dunno when it starts tho.
It's so weird to not have homework and papers due...its strange....

SO I didn't wind up going to the interview for the Petroleum company. Instead I've interviewed at a casino here for a count room attendant job (which I got) and for a records info clerk position at this place downtown, which I have a second interview for tomorrow. I also got called back for jobs at Sobeys, Shaw, and a few other places...the employment market is BOOMING here! I'm not taking the Casino job and hopefully I get this records info job because it deals with historical land claims, which actually has something to do with my degree.
Speaking of my degree, i have been approved by my faculty, so I have officially graduated, my parents should be recieving the letter any day now (mom when you get it can you scan it and email it to me? thanks!)
This weekend Joe and I were busy busy busy....we watched a few movies - Corpse Bride, Office Space and 21 Grams...all were good, particularly 21 Grams if you've never seen it.
Joe also became OBSESSED with Fish Tycoon. It was cute, I went to her place of work to find her breeding and selling fish like crazy. On friday nite we watched tv whilst she fish mongered (she even had a fish monger hat...i really should have taken a picture it was priceless!)
I also got myself a new phone for free, its one of those new pantech ones...i like it. Joe got herself some new shoes and after she put in the black laces they looked awesome and were as comfy as walking on a cloud by all accounts.
Yesterday I downloaded Trailer Park Tycoon and played that obsessively...it is seriously such an awesome game. Joe and I consumed mass amounts of junk food whilst playing both tycoon games, watching tv and napping.
THis morning I went to my interview, which I was late for (I have to keep remembering that transit here SUCKS), but the guy loved me anyways (he takes public transit so completely sympathized). He told me that i'd prolly get called for another interview by tomorrow...they actually called me back only like an hour after I left the office...so I think that's a pretty good sign.
I treated myself to some new clothes, I basically have a complete work wardrobe now ( i just need a few more pairs of shoes)
I can't wait for my interview tomorrow, I just want to get it done and over with and start work!!!

Wow I guess sending out those whiney whoa is me vibes yesterday actually paid off.
I have an interview for a job at a Petroleum company. I talked to the owner and he sounds like a nice guy. The only problem is it's near the West Edmonton Mall, which is a considerable distance from my place. And the public transportation in this city freaking sucks, I wish I had a car. I'm going to go to the interview at any rate. It'll be good practice to get myself back into the swing of interviews at the very least.
I have to be there by 9am....ugh!
Oh I also got called back for a job at Sobey's but I really don't want to work there. Hopefully this receptionist job will pan through for me.

Horror
Whether you're the bouncy victim type, the quiet psycho, or just the guy in some monster suit, you do your best work in the dark. A great place to vent your frustrations.
Downside: Only the Porno actor/actress has a harder time showing mom their work.
Take this quiz now - it's easy!
Last night Joe and I watched 3 episodes of South Park. I don't know why but in this one episode they talked about this creature called the manbearpig and I lost it...I'm weird like that I guess.
Our weekend was rather uneventful. We watched various movies...posiedon and american haunting were good. Went to the bar which was totally lame and I think we'll be bypassing it from now on....it just totally sucks.
I still haven't heard back from any of the places I applied...I'm starting to feel like a loser. I have 10 more jobs I'm going to apply for today. To not feel like a complete mooch I've designated myself as the housebitch. I cook, clean and feed the critters. I know Joe doesn't mind, but I don't want to feel like a worthless piece of shit sitting around all day doing nothing. OK I do do that part of the day.
Anyways I think on Friday...actually I don't think I KNOW on friday we're going to see the Black Dahlia. It looks really good. I just found out that they do the Rocky Horror Picture Show here in Edmonton around Halloween I'm going to talk to Joe to see what she thinks about that.
I've downloaded 4 or 5 movies to watch: THe Lost City, Stick It, Stay Alive, The Devil and Daniel Johnston, Larry the Cable Guy and Beowulf and Grendel. Although I think TV is good tonite...there's the finale of Big Brother and Rockstar.
I like having someone to cook for. I hated cooking for myself. I know Joe totally appreciates the food and that makes me want to cook even more. She's also pretty adventurous when it comes to food and isn't picky.
So I need to make a little list of what I have to do today...lists motivate me:
1. Call Telus and see what kind of deal I can fandangle with them (hopefully it means a free phone)
2. Clean Up the clothes room
3. Do dishes
4. DO more laundry
5. Set up printer
6. Print off some resumes & cover letter for Ab Blue Cross
7. Watch some episodes of the Gilmore Girls
8. Apply for Jobs
Ok that's a pretty good list, I'm going to stop procrastinating and go and do some of that.

I went out to run some errands yesterday. I think it clicked in yesterday while I was out...wandering around because I am so ass backwards in this city, getting frustrated because I had no clue where I was going...that I'm here for real. I remember feeling this way when I first moved to Vancouver. I was constantly frustrated and feeling anxious and like I was all alone in this city. I'm just really hoping that this changes soon. I have a general concept of various areas but it's still confusing me how they all connect. Like...what I think is north is apparently west. I miss having the mountains there to orient me.
I hate their LRT system (aka Skytrain)... I guess I'm just so used to Translink that its taking me time to adjust.
I haven't been called back for any jobs...I have no clue what I'm doing wrong, so tomorrow I'm going out to apply at places like Safeways and what not.
While my parents and sister were here we did a lot of toursity things. Like going to Fort Edmonton, which I highly recommend and the Royal Alberta Museum, which I also highly recommend.
There's a farmer's market that I want to go to on Saturday, its downtown and I actually know how to get there. I'm hoping Joe will join me on a little outing. She is still feeling really crappy. It sucks that she's sick my first week here cause I'm so excited and she's just feeling so horrible it's hard to be excited.
In other news, I'm totally lacking motivation to do anything. I haven't unpacked as much as I should and I'm just so lazy. Hopefully I'll wake up tomorrow raring to go. All I want to do is sleep and hide away.
Tonight is UFC night...right after Big Brother is on.
Well I'm going to go and apply for more jobs. Hurrah.

Ok so we're driving through Edson (i think that's the name) a few days ago...listening to "the Rig" radio station and driving by a firearms and ammo store called "moving target" which is located right beside the "lotsa liquor" liquor store...
why did I ever leave this province?
I'm in Edmonton...spending time with my family and Joe. Unfortunately I gave her my cold...
Topnot is currently lying right beside me....like I have no wiggle room on the couch...he's like my shadow when I'm around him now, it's very cute.
I get the internet on the 6th
I've been applying for alot of jobs...like good jobs with the gov't and at the university...I've decided that if I don't get a call from any of them by Thursday I'm going to start applying at lame places like Safeway and Starbucks...just to make money until something better comes along.

We woke up this morning...finished packing up the last minute things, did my final walk through with my landlord and then headed out of town by 1:30pm.
We stopped to eat at this place called Skinny's Grille in Hope, BC...it was super yummy...I had Key Lime Pie...sooooo good.
We made it to Kamloops tonite, I think we were all tired from packing and cleaning.
Just a little note...my parents rock. I seriously don't know how I would have done this move with out them. I'm so grateful to them and hopefully once I get a job and have money I can repay them in some small way. My mom particularly is a machine...like I don't know where she gets her freaking energy but she's the reason that we were on time and actually got everything done.
Tomorrow I think we'll be up early and on the road again. Being in a truck's back seat as an adult really sucks...it wasn't bad when me and my sister were little but now its just so uncomfy.
I'm really excited about moving back to Alberta...It doesn't feel real yet, I'm sure it will finally set in in a coupla weeks, for now it just feels like I'm going on a trip for a little bit.
I can't wait until the new seasons of Grey's Anatomy and the Office start....ooh and Law & Order SVU, Criminal Minds, CSI, South Park and Gilmore Girls...
